The Boston Celtics took a commanding 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Sunday night, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 2 at the TD Garden. The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum's 31 points, while Luka Doncic finished with 20 points for the Mavericks.
The Celtics jumped out to a 29-point lead in the third quarter, but the Mavericks fought back to cut the deficit to 72-64 midway through the period. However, the Celtics held on to take a 10-point lead into the fourth quarter and cruised to victory in the end.
The Celtics' defense was a major factor in the win, as they held the Mavericks to just 38.2% shooting from the field. The Mavericks also struggled from three-point range, making just 11 of 33 attempts (33.3%).
The Celtics now have a chance to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series when they host Game 3 on Tuesday night.
